Abstract:

The Lost and gone glory of the once magnificent Sasanid palace, Taq-e Kasra, has posed a grievous emotional impact on the many who have visited it for many years. Poets like Khayyam, Behtari, Khaghani, Sheikh Reza Talebani, and Ma'rouf Alrasafi, among others, have indicated their sad feelings of their visits to the ruined palace through their poems. From among all poetry on that theme, Khaghani's poem enjoys a higher prestige and reputation on such grounds as simplicity, and elegance in terms of both form and content. This article aims at scrutinizing the question whether Khaghani's poem, as assumed by a great number of contemporary researchers, was indeed written according to the motive of national patriotism on the side of the poet or rather stemmed from the poet's feeling of despair and fickleness regarding the unstable world. It is hoped that the findings of this study will shed more lights on the issue.

Abstract:

Each cultural heritage was at a time considered to be a significant phenomenon causing it to last to the present time. Accordingly, letters, old contracts, tablets, sculptures, roles, signs, buildings, and the like can be referred to as "objective history" or lasting ones, against "scientific history." Objective or ever-lasting history is a bridge between the past to the future. This study, by using descriptive and historical methods via documentary and library resources, sets out to investigate the Islamic foundations and underpinnings of the necessity for the preservation of objective history; namely, historical monuments. Various Quran verses as well as religious narrations and sayings are interpreted as highly recommending for the preservation of both objective and scientific history. There are ten foundational and pivotal theoretical basis for the preservation of cultural heritages including the tradition of writing and narration, the status of tourism and scientific tour in Islam, the right path of conservation of the historical heritages left from the past kings and emperors, reflection over the story of saving the body of Pharaoh from the sea, the need for drawing on prophetic traditions, the practical approach of religious scholars toward statutes and carved figures belonging to pre-Islamic history, the right path of endowment in Islam (vaqf), and fundamental status of mosques and temples in Islamic school of thought. It seems that on this basis, the Prophet and his chosen followers and past jurisprudents had not ordered the destruction of any historical works other than idols. Additionally, at the beginning of Islam, the currency in circulation among Moslems in Mecca and Medina, Iraq, and Syria were the Roman and Persian coins for over a decade. In sum, if the need for preserving the ancient heritage is taken as an acceptable notion of ‘progress’, this study intends to display a link between Islamic traditions and the concepts of development and progress.

Abstract:

The central issue of this paper is the study of the relationship between women and the urban space of Kermanshah. For this purpose, the women of two neighborhoods of Dolatabad and Kasri were selected so that apart from gender, the effect of women's socio-economic base on their relationship with the city and their acceptance by the city was investigated. The method of the article is grounded theory and corresponding to the problem and research method, data were collected through interviews. The main guide for data analysis has been the production theory of Lefebvre space. The research concluded that the women of both neighborhoods do not have a connection with the city and the city does not have a public space to accept women. However, the women of Daulatabad neighborhood meet the needs of the urban space in kinship, neighborhood and neighborhood communities, and the women of the Kasri neighborhood have replaced the privatized public spaces with urban spaces. The lack of presence of women in the city is the result of their absence in the economic order and their secondary role in the system of division of labor of the dominant relations in Kermanshah.

Abstract:

Patient satisfaction is a key indicator in evaluating the quality of healthcare services and plays a crucial role in the healing process and patients' perception of the healthcare system. Evidence-Based Design (EBD) is a scientific approach that uses empirical data to optimize healthcare environments. The goals of this research are to promote the principles of designing healthcare centers using an evidence-based approach, thereby improving the quality of space, enhancing patient satisfaction, and accelerating the recovery process. The research method is based on patient-centered principles, aligning with analytical-descriptive research that incorporates field observations, library studies, and data collection through questionnaires from 65 patients hospitalized at Kasra Hospital. These data are analyzed to provide a suitable solution for the design. Data analysis is conducted using the regression and correlation methods. The software used is ASPECT and SPSS 26. According to the obtained results, threshold rate of 6, the average factors of views (3.646), nature and outdoors (3.472), comfort and control (3.913), Legibility of place (3.900), facilities (3.079) and staff (3.594) means that the patients in the hospital are relatively satisfied with the aforementioned factors and the average of privacy and participation (2.769) and interior design (2.896) indicating low satisfaction with the mentioned factors. This study confirms that implementing evidence-based design principles in hospital environments significantly enhances the patient experience, increases satisfaction, and accelerates the healing process.

Abstract:

Scholars in mysticism use metaphoric language certainly not to tell stories but to discuss other mystic topics. Among Muslim scholars, Jalal al-din Mowlavi has used this method. One of the most important and longest stories in his work is the story of Hoosh-Roba palace or Zat al-Sowar palace intended to explain man’s mystic journey. Among Christians, Treza Avilaie (1515- 1582) expresses the same issue in the valuable work called "the palace". This paper mainly concentrates on the comparable aspects of the mentioned works, showing how man’s self has been compared to a beautiful palace.

Abstract:

Without any doubts, balance is considered as one of the most significant criticism issues which evaluates similarities among different texts so that it can find to a better understanding and consequently the problems can be solved. Thus, it stands in a top position in literary criticism. Regarding this significance, this study is dedicated to study balance between al-Buhturi and Sharif al-Mortaza odes with the focus on Taq Kasra description. Here description technique is studied; it is a descriptive-analytic study based on stylistics. It divides the discussion into five parts: one part is allocated to analysis of the concept, and the other part to analysis of description technique such as tone, words, grammar language and rhetoric. Based on the mentioned parameters, these two works are analyzed and Taq Kasra’s reflection and their similarities and differences are examined. Studying the issue, it became clear that two poets did their best to choose eloquent and concurrent words, since they paid attention to applying satisfying and clear language structures. Al-Buhturi made use of noun phrases more than verb phrases since noun phrases are proper to description. Indeed, paid more attention to details and creation of new figures; they are accompanied by poets’ honest description. These two odes differ in their concepts which identifies al-Buhuri’s ode as a lyrical literary work, and includes Sharif al-Mortaza’s ode as a didactic literary work.

Abstract:

In the face of the arrival of modernism in the Middle East, the first achievement of the Republic of Turkey led by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was disconnection from the visual symbolic past. Turkey succeeded in rebuilding itself and became a role model for its neighbor, including Iran during the Pahlavi regime. Thus, the impact of modernism on the symbolic and visual structures of the past is particularly important. Therefore, the influence of Cubic architecture on the avant-garde architecture of these two leaders is essential. The current paper aims at investigating this process and its roots. This is a qualitative comparative analytical research method with a morphological analysis strategy. Data was collected with reference to library sources. For morphological analysis and comparative study, Saad Abad and Chankaya palaces were selected. Then, the indices were determined and compared. The results show that the intercultural exchanges in the twentieth century significantly transformed the urban and residential culture in Iran and Turkey. Therefore, one cannot speak of producing "universal" pure architecture in an abstract space far from the influence of local conditions or of pure "local" architecture while one place is entirely dependent on other places. Saad Abad and Chankaya are not just influenced by local or universal architecture but rather influenced by the impact of the locally and universally features. Therefore, the morphological comparison of Saad Abad and Chankaya palaces is more than the content of the cubic architecture. It is not merely a modernist imitation of Western architecture, and the past (local) architectural traditions of these countries have not been completely abandoned, and in fact they have been interconnected or compatible with the traditional and modern concepts and forms.

Abstract:

In contemporary times, the imperative to address ethical considerations within the realm of architecture has escalated, primarily in response to the prevalent environmental challenges. Environmental ethics, a facet of applied ethics, delves into the intricate interplay between nature and the exigencies arising from indiscriminate human interventions in the environment. The present research employs a descriptive-analytical approach to discern indicators of environmental ethics methodologies, drawing insights from the Hannover Principles and pertinent case studies. Within the purview of this study, the qualitative content analysis method is employed to scrutinize the conceptual framework of these principles and their ramifications on residential complexes. To identify pivotal indicators and criteria catering to residential needs, the Expert questionnaire and AHP method are applied. The accrual of research data is facilitated through a researcher-developed questionnaire, subsequently subjected to analysis utilizing SPSS statistical software. The analytical approach involves correlation coefficient analysis and a one-sample t-test. In alignment with the Hannover Principles, environmental ethics indicators are systematically classified into three distinct categories: principles pertaining to human aspects, those linked to nature, and principles concerning productivity. This study aims to investigate the role of these principles as evaluative criteria in the design of contemporary residential complexes. The central research question guiding this inquiry is articulated as follows: To what extent have environmental ethics principles been integrated into the design paradigms of modern residential complexes? The empirical findings underscore the imperative of infusing environmental ethical standards into the fabric of sustainable building creation. Notably, principles related to human aspects emerge as particularly consequential, garnering the highest score among all the considered criteria for Residential Complexes.

Abstract:

Shaur palace located at western side of Susa ancient site, next to Shaur River. Excavations at the site began since 1970 to 1976 by Remi Bucharlat, Adran Labrus, and Mahmoud Kordavani. They identified three archaeological levels that dated to Islamic, Parthian, and Achaemenid periods. Excavations revealed few glassworks among recovered material, which dated from Parthian to Islamic periods including vessels for medical, cosmetic purposes; such as bottles, attar vials, bowls, glasses, and ornaments such as beads and rings. The glassworks usually were green objects that manufactured using free-blowing method, while some productions enjoyed mold-blowing method. Considering comparable Iranian and foreign objects, they probably produced by same technique and decoration, or exchanged within the Parthian territories. However, some remains indicate Iranian artistic effects, Hellenistic and Roman motifs dominated glassworks of Shaur, would indicate regional exchanges between Khuzistan Plain and more distant western areas.

Abstract:

Background and Aims: One of the main causes of severe respiratory infection in infants and young children is respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). The disease can also occur in adults and elderly individuals and clinically not to be differentiated from other viral respiratory infection. The disease causes bronchiolitis, and sometimes pneumonia in new born and young children which requires hospital care. To differentiate the disease from other respiratory infection and rapid treatment accurate laboratory diagnosis of the disease is necessary. Materials and Methods: specimen taken from the sick children suffering from respiratory infection were processed and fixed on the slides. They were stained with fluorescein conjugated RSV specific antibody and examined by a UV microscope. Results: From 141 patients attending the Kasra hospital laboratories 62 of them were positive, most of the infection occurred in children with in 6 month of birth. The rate of infection was higher in the month of January and February. Conclusions: It seems that RSV infection is common in infants and young children which occur mostly during the cold season.
